Training
Description
The ice rescue environment is unique and many hazards are subtle. The
courses teach
students the rescue principles and
techniques needed to operate in the
environment.
Course
Objectives
Students leave the courses with the skills necessary to recognize hazards,
and function as member of a rescue team. The following two levels of
training are available.
Ice
Rescue - Awareness
This classroom course highlights hazards associated with Ice Rescue.
The Awareness level course is meant for those who might arrive on scene
of an ice emergency in the initial stages of the response.

Instructor per 8 students
Ice
Rescue - Operations
This hands-on course covers rescuer safety, ice formation and hazards,
rope work, self-rescue, and challenging scenarios. The course meets
NFPA standards. Pre-requisite No pre-requisite required.
